WRC2 class winner Teemu Suninen's performance in Secto Rally Finland has been disqualified. With Suninen's disqualification, Emil Lindholm takes maximum points and the first place of the WRC2 class. Estonia’s Egon Kaur rises to a second place and New Zealand's Hayden Paddon takes the third place of the class.
Teemu Suninen, who drove to victory in the WRC2 class in the Secto Rally Finland, has been disqualified by the decision of the event stewards late Sunday night after the post-event scrutineering. Front bumper of Suninen's car was too lightwhen the minimum weight is defined in the rules to be 4510 grams. Suninen's front bumper weighed 3931 grams.
Hyundai Motorsport's explanation to the matter was that the front bumper was not an original part of the car, but a copy that had remained in the car after the tests.
Maximum points from the WRC2 class lifted Lindholm from seventh to third place in the World Championship points and to the lead of the WRC2 Junior class.
